On Friday 1st Sept Castleview players travelled to Tramore TC to play the 2nd leg of the Anna Harpur Cup. Castleview were 5:3 up on matches going into Friday night. Great games had in Tramore with Tramore coming out on top and winning overall 10:8. Good nights tennis had by all with great hospitality, food and refreshments provided by Tramore. Tramore have won back the Anna Harpur Cup which Castleview having held for past year. Really good social tennis tournament played in great spirit. Thanks to Tramore for hosting the night especially Niamh Owens, Matthew Chau & Richie Ryan.

On Wed 23rd August the Tom Glascott Memorial American Tournament was held in Castleview. Great night with a large number playing in the tournament. Huge thanks to the Glascott family especially Sinead, John & Annette who helped make this night a tremendous success and an enjoyable night. The Glascott family donated a bench to the club in memory of Tom Glascott being one of the original trustees of the club.

The Anne Harper Cup with Tramore was held on Friday 25th Sept. Very good night of tennis with 8 pairings from each club across different grades playing a match. Overall on the night Castleview lead 5:3 going into the 2nd leg in Tramore on the Fri 1st Sept. Good fun and great social night had by all. Those interested in playing in Tramore on Fri 1st please put your names on sign sheet on noticeboard in clubhouse. Promises to be another good night.

The resurfacing of the 4 tennis courts and addition of a new Midi U10’s court will commence on Saturday 11th March 2017. Play in Castleview can continue until Friday 10th March 2017.

The clubhouse and courts will be closed for approximately 6 weeks from that date. We appreciate your patience & co-operation and we look forward to using brand new state of the art playing surfaces.

Congratulations to Zach Murphy for winning the U14 Singles Dutch Bowl International in Geldrland the Netherlands at weekend. He also got to the final of the U13’s Singles but was beaten in a tie break. This was a week long competition where 25 Juniors competed from Ireland.
